For me, the EUROLITE LED LP-100 is, above all, one thing: extremely versatile. When compared directly with other gobo projectors in this price range, it offers features that are not found on many other units.
I find the zoom lens particularly handy. It allows the projection angle to be adjusted to suit the distance and projection surface. This is a major advantage, especially when a projector isn’t always used in the same place. This means the LP-100 can be used for a wide variety of projections and in different venues without needing to change the lens.
Added to this is the integrated colour wheel. The ability to design the projection directly using different colours is a real plus for me. The dimming function also works well and allows you to adjust the brightness to suit the specific application.
Another feature of the LP-100 that pleasantly surprised me is the range of additional effects and rotation functions. In this price range, very few gobo projectors offer a comparable range of functions. This means you can do so much more with a simple logo or motif – from a static projection right through to moving and colourful effects.
The LP-100 also impressed me in terms of brightness. The 100 W LED delivers very good light output and still has sufficient reserves even at greater projection distances.
Of course, there is one area where the LP-100 falls short: the optics. Compared to a projector with higher-quality fixed optics, the projection becomes noticeably blurrier towards the edges. This is particularly noticeable with very detailed gobos or when a particularly sharp logo is required across the entire projection surface.
But here too, I believe the same applies: you can’t have everything at this price. In my opinion, the LP-100 wasn’t designed to deliver the absolute sharpest projection in every respect. Its great strength lies rather in its enormous flexibility.
If I were to choose a projector for a fixed installation where the primary focus is on achieving the sharpest and most uniformprojection, I would opt for a different model.
On the other hand, if you’re looking for a flexible projector for different venues and varying requirements, I believe the LP-100 is an excellent choice. The zoom, colour wheel, dimmer, good brightness and various effect functions make it a true all-rounder.
My recommendation: The LP-100 is particularly appealing to DJs, event technicians, exhibition stand builders, event organisers and anyone who doesn’t always use their gobo projector under the same conditions. If maximum sharpness isn’t the top priority, you get a great deal of flexibility and features for your money here.
